About the Authors: Dr. Daniel A. Menascé is a Professor of Computer Science at George Mason University, Virginia. He received a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) and was elected a Fellow of the ACM in 1997 in recognition of outstanding technical and professional achievements in the field of information technology. Dr. Virgilio A. F. Almeida is a Professor of Computer Science at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil. He received a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Vanderbilt University.
