Roman A. Polyak
Title: Professor Professor Roman A.Polyak received PhD in mathematics in 1966 from Central Economics and Mathematics Institute of the Soviet Union Academy of Sciences.After emigration from the Soviet Union in 1988 he was a visiting scientist at the Department of Mathematical Sciences IBM Thomas Watson Research Center.From 1993 he was a Research Professor at GMU and since 1995 full professor of mathematics and Operations Research.In 2002 he received Fulbright Award for his work in Linear and Nonlinear Optimization.In 2003 he become the Fellow of International Foundation for Research in Experimental Economics for his research in Mathematical Economics.He received NSF and NASA Awards for his work in Convex Optimization and applications in Optimal Power flow,Structural Optimization,Statistical Learning Theory and Economics. |
