Jill K. Nelson
Short Biography: Jill Nelson received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a B.A. in Economics from Rice University. She received an M.S. and a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She joined the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at George Mason University as an Assistant Professor in the fall of 2005. Dr. Nelson’s research lies in statistical signal processing and signal processing for communications. Specifically, her interests include equalization and coding for dispersive channels, iterative detection and decoding, blind equalization, and cooperative detection in multi-user communications. Dr. Nelson is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Tau Beta Pi, Eta Kappa Nu, and the IEEE Signal Processing Society. While at the University of Illinois, se was the recipient of the NDSEG, NSF, Koehler, Reid, Ford Motor Company, Tellabs, Motorola, and Vodafone-U.S. Foundation Fellowships recognizing her research and teaching accomplishments. |
