Rajesh Ganesan received his Ph.D. in Industrial and Management Systems Engineering and M.A. in Mathematics with a concentration in Statistics, both from the University of South Florida in June 2005. His major research interests are in stochastic systems modeling and decision making, with applications in simulation-based stochastic optimization, stochastic control, bioinformatics, and nanomanufacturing. He is also interested in engineering education research. Dr. Ganesan received his outstanding thesis award from the University of South Florida and the first place Graduate research award from the Institute of Industrial Engineers for his master’s research efforts. At USF, he served as the project manager of STARS (Students, Teachers, And Resources in the Sciences), a National Science Foundation GK-12 Project, funded from 2002 to the present. He has four years of professional experience in the industry as a Senior Quality Engineer of MICO-Bosch. He received an M.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of South Florida in 2002, and holds the university first rank medal for his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology in Calicut, India, in 1996.
