Funding Priorities
Thank you for your interest in making a gift to The Volgenau School of IT&Engineering. Through the support of alumni, faculty, friends and businesses, we have raised more than $3million towards our Campaign goal of $5 million, but there are still many initiatives that need your help.
Listed below for your review are the funding priorities for The Volgenau School of IT&Engineering:
Endowed Faculty Support
- Deanship-$2 million
- Academic Directorship- minimum $2million
- Chair- minimum $1 million
- Professorship- minimum $500,000
- Visiting Professorship- minimum $500,000
Endowed Student Support
- Undergraduate Scholarship
Minimum-$25,000
- Professional Scholarship
Minimum $50,000
- Graduate Scholarship
Minimum $100,000
- Graduate Fellowship
Minimum $200,000
Current Use Scholarships
Each year a donor may provide funds for the award of a scholarship in that year with no guarantee of future funding. The scholarship is awarded as long as the Donor chooses to contribute $5,000. This amount is recommended to ensure that the scholarship has an impact on the student.
Scholarship donors are invited to the annual spring scholarship luncheon to meet the student(s).

Additional Information on Endowments and Other Named Opportunities
- Endowments are a permanent gift that honors an individual or family
- The earned income from the principal provides the financial assistance to the student or facult member
- The above can be established at one time or over a period of years
- Corporate matching funds can be used to create Scholarships and Fellowships
- Gifts to create these endowments are tax deductible to the extent the IRS allows
- Individuals from The Volgenau School of IT&E will be pleased to work with donors to create criteria for the endowment to be sure the wishes of the donor are granted while abiding by University and governmental requirements
