Corporate Partners

The Office of Development and Alumni Relations in the Volgenau School of Information Technology and Engineering obtains private funding from alumni, friends, corporations and foundations, and serves to enhance relations and promote communication with alumni and friends of the Volgenau School.

Our objective is twofold. In cooperation with the Dean, the office directs and supervises all fund-raising activities, including annual, capital and planned-gift programs, as well as plans and implements alumni programs.

Fund-raising for the School

Private fund-raising is critical to the Volgenau School to help support programs and initiatives. Becoming a more prominent leader in technology and engineering, the School relies on continuous support from its many alumni, friends, and corporate partners.

A contribution

•  Helps to establish named professorships, enabling the Volgenau School to retain its excellent faculty. Increasing student interest in the field of engineering and technology has meant greater enrollment in the School; professorships are needed more than ever.

•  Helps us keep pace with technology and maintain our dedication to excellence in teaching. The Volgenau School is dedicated to ensuring that our students are familiar with a wide range of technology to help them meet the challenges they will face in the workplace.

•  Creates scholarships that reward students for excellence in the classroom. Scholarship opportunities attract better students, raising academic standards and enhancing the reputation of the School.

•  Supports programs that might send students to conferences and competitions.

Another important kind of contribution to the School is unrestricted funding. Unrestricted funding is exceedingly important to meet the general operating expenses of the School and helps plan for the School's expansion and growth as student needs and enrollment increase over time. Unrestricted funding is the School's most flexible and most urgently needed type of support.
