The Vogenau School of Information Technology and Engineering

Individual Partnership Program

Twenty Years of Excellence

Since 1985 The Volgenau School of Information Technology and Engineering (IT&E) at George Mason University has paved the way for thousands of students who have entered the ever-growing information technology industry and have thrived in the information-based economy. Becoming more nationally recognized, the Volgenau School was the first engineering program in the United States to focus its scholarship primarily on information technology and math-based engineering as opposed to the traditional physical, material-based engineering approach and the first to offer a doctoral degree in information technology.

The Volgenau School is in a vital, dynamic, growing field. As our world and technology become more increasingly complex and advanced, IT& Engineering will become more important than ever. The more specialized the information and the more complex the technology, the more trained experts will be sought and that's where our School plays an important role.

Private Giving

The Volgenau School of IT& Engineering currently receives $800,000 in annual contributions. As a state institution, we receive less than 50% of our operating budget from the State. Private support is more critical than ever for the School to be competitive with other leading engineering and technology schools, both public and private.

Individual supporters create a solid base of continuing and dependable support and help establish a standard of giving for others to follow. Your gift will help us build and maintain improved facilities, develop programs and offer much-needed scholarships for our students and hire and retain outstanding faculty. Your gift is an investment in our School and in our future.
