Where are the various IT&E departments located in Science and Technology Building II?

• Statistics--Room 158 (1st floor)

Where are the computer labs located in Science and Technology Building II (ST2)?

IT&E operates a lab in S&T 2 room 137 equipped with PCs running Windows XP and Linux on which required software is installed. Further information on the labs and other IT&E computer resources can be found here (http://labs.ite.gmu.edu)

Are the IT&E programs accredited?

• Yes, many IT&E undergraduate programs are acredited by the appropriate boards, which would include ABET for the engineering programs and CSAB for the computer science program. For more details, contact the individual departments for accreditation information pertinent to specific degrees.
• George Mason University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees, and is a member of the Council of Graduate Schools in the United States.

Where can I find out who my advisor is? How often should I see my advisor?

• Call the appropriate department office to determine who your advisor is (see above for locations). It is imperative that you meet with your advisor at least once a semester.

How can I find out which classes I have registered for? How can I view my academic records?

• You can view your academic records online at the Registrar's office website. To view your records at the University registrar's website, click on "Academic Records." Then select either "secure server" or "standard server", depending on your browser security capabilities. Then, type in your student ID number and your 4-digit 4GMU pin number. After you type in these numbers, you'll see below them a variety of options, from display academic progress, to display fall/spring/summer schedules/grades, to display address information, to display transcript. You can select one of these options, and then view and print the information you have selected. To be on the safe side, always keep a hard copy of your latest course schedule.

Where do I go to find special request forms?

• They are available online at the IT&E website or in front of Room 160, ST2. Be sure to read the University's policies pertaining to special requests.

How do I get the results of a special request?

• You can call the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies' office at 993-1511 to get the results of a special results. You will receive results in teh mail. Make sure your address is current and that you keep copies of approved requests.

Where can I learn more about financial aid and scholarship opportunities?

• Entering freshmen compete for University Scholars Awards and Deans' Scholarships. Contact the Office of Student Financial Aid (703-993-2353) for more information on financial aid and scholarships. Call (703-993-1511) for more information about the TopHATS program.

Where can I learn more about cooperative education and internship opportunities?

• IT&E students should go to Room 160, ST2 and make an appointment to see the Dean for Undergraduate Studies to try to resolve any problems in your academic study.
