MEET THE DEVELOPMENT STAFFJennifer Lamb Jennifer Lamb joined the School as director of development in February 2004. Prior to coming to George Mason University, she was at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As director of development in the Volgenau School of Information Technology and Engineering at George Mason University, Ms. Lamb is a member of the dean’s senior management team and also serves as the liaison to the University’s Development Office. Her main responsibilities include directing and supervising fund-raising and alumni activities, including annual-, capital- and planned-giving programs. In concert with the dean, the she has helped design a strategic plan for the school’s upcoming $20M capital campaign, which was officially launched in October, 2005. She has developed and implemented programs for achieving established fund-raising objectives, for example, the individual and corporate partnership programs and the annual Spring Awards Gala. She serves as the school’s ambassador to corporations and foundations and organizes the school’s boards and recruits alumni volunteers. She graduated from the University of Maryland in 1989 with a B.A. in sociology. She received the master’s degree in education with a concentration in psychological services from the University of Pennsylvania in 1993 and did additional graduate coursework in education and human development at George Washington University. She has been an active and long-time member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Josephine R. Boukhira Associate Director of Development Josephine R. Boukhira is the Associate Director of Alumni Relations and has been with the Volgenau School and George Mason University for six years. She assists in the development and management of the alumni component for the School’s 2010 Campaign by helping to implement strategies to achieve the School’s fundraising objectives with a particular emphasis on the School’s newly created scholarship endowments and the new building campaign. As part of the School’s fund-raising initiatives, she identifies alumni prospects and donors for the Dean’s 2010 Club, and works closely with the Mason Development/Foundation staff on direct mail, phonathon and annual fund campaign. She is responsible for alumni stewardship activities for the School. Jo is a long-time member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), and a former board member of The Malone Foundation (2000-2003). She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Ohio Wesleyan University.
Sarah M. Stafford Sarah joined the Volgenau School and George Mason University in October, 2006 as the Associate Director of Corporate Relations. She is responsible for the development and implementation of corporate fund-raising in the School. She manages and oversees The Volgenau School Corporate Partners Program and is responsible for the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of corporate donors to the School. In addition, she helps secure corporate sponsorships for the School’s Annual Awards Gala and supports all special events as they relate to fund-raising and/or to the School’s “2010 Campaign.” Prior to joining Mason, she was the Development Director for Youth First, Inc. in Evansville, Indiana. Sarah holds a Master’s Degree in Public Service Administration from the University of Evansville, Evansville, Indiana, and a Bachelor of Science in Communications, Public Relations emphasis, from University of Southern Indiana. She also holds a certificate in Fundraising Management from the Indiana University School of Philanthropy and a Certificate in Grant Writing from the University of Evansville. Sarah is also a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
